Another couple of shots from the Prodigy gig at The Plug. Guitarist Rob Holliday. These weren’t taken with the crappy iPhone camera. These are from a Kodak EasyShare C613. Again, I messed with the colours.

This is quite possibly the best photo I have ever taken. Its Keith Flint of The Prodigy. Taken from deep in the heart of a hot, tightly packed, hectic crowd at The Plug in Sheffield on the 16th of May 2008. And it was taken using the crappy camera of a first generation iPhone. All i’ve done to it is green up the colours
I managed to snap a few good ones that night, but this is my favourite.
Heres the rest of the series of five “Manchester Musicians” portraits I did a while back. Ian, Stephen, and Liam. If you ever spot any of them in the wild, let me know

Yep. Amsterdam can do that sort of thing to you.
Walk into a coffee shop with some pens, pencils, and other mark making material. Sit yourself down for a few hours and get to work. I’m sure you create something great.

My favourite illustration of me and my girl. Currently on the wall over my computers. Worked from a photo I took in an Amsterdam coffee shop in 2004

24 Hour Party People. Bez of the Happy Mondays. A local legend.
Another one from the 5 Manc portraits. Shaun’s partner in crime. Mr “Freaky Dancing”. If this ones not alongside Shaun I’d be disappointed

24 Hour Party People. Shaun Ryder of the Happy Mondays. A local legend.
From a collection of 5 portraits of Manchester musicians. They all used to be up on the walls in Zumbar (now Odder Bar) in the southern quarter of Manchester city center. No idea where this portrait is nowadays, or the rest of the 5. When Zumbar shut down to make way for Odder Bar the owner took my artwork with him never to be seen by me again.
I just hope its being looked at by someone somewhere.
I shall post the rest of the collection later

Another old one from me to look at. This is from 2005. It was sold at a charity auction in 2006 for victims of the Tsunami in Thailand Dec 2004. I hope its still alive on someones wall somewhere
By the way. It’s the King of Rock & Roll, Elvis. Can you tell?
Thankyou, Thankyouverymuch

I’m in a self-imposed exile from the internet for most of today to avoid the chance of running into Lost finale spoilers.
This exile has made me realise just how much I rely on the Internet (Twitter in perticular) for toilet break entertainment.
iPhones are fantastic aren’t they :-)
My recent “get your shit together and do something!!!!” attitude has not only got me motivated to get my own arty farty act together, Its also kicked me into putting together something I said I would get sorted many moons ago.
A friend of mine who likes to get creative with Pens, pencils & Tipp-Ex (he’s also known been known to use blood & cigarette ash in his sketches once in a while) has spent far too long not showing off his sketch books to the online world. That ends today. You will now be able to follow the twisted creations that his mind & hands dump online over at madmcgurk.com. And you can follow him for updates on twitter via @madmcgurk.
Hopefully he’ll also start to use twitter “properly” as well, so you’ll get something more from him than just links to his pretty pictures. But as I’ve sort of set all this up without him knowing, I’m not really sure how he’ll choose to handle his new found online presence.
Right now you can see a small selection of work from his sketchbooks. But once I show him how to work things he should start posting work quite regularly as he is a prolific sketchbook filler.
Please do leave him some feedback. Positive or negative. via the tumbler blog or twitter.
Oh, the “Drink BabyDrink!” pic up there is one of his. how cool a Nirvana T-Shirt would that be!?

I intend this “blog” to be a place where I can post my upcoming adventures in art. It’s been too long since I regulary created any art for arts sake. 3 years ago I made the mistake of getting a full time job, and since then my art output has droped drematically. In fact, most spiders have created more art than I have since gaining full time employment. That’s gonna change.
Soon I shall start regulary updating this place. For now, I’ll leave this quick Brushes (iPhone app) sketch I made of my girl attending to her facebook page.
More to come. I promise.
